This is happening amid reports that Djibouti's candidate, Mahamoud Ali Youssouf, may withdraw from the race for the Chairmanship of the African Union Commission (AUC).

This latest development has ignited joy among Raila's supporters, with many interpreting Kioni's message as proof that the former Kenyan prime minister is close to landing the influential position in Africa.

Youssouf, a former foreign minister of Djibouti and one of Raila's closest rivals, is considered a strong contender in the race that also includes Madagascar's Richard Randriamandrato.

However, reports suggest that Youssouf may pull out of the race, paving the way for Raila to the prestigious position.

What was Kioni's mystical message that ignited joy?

Taking to social media platform X on Wednesday, January 22, Kioni shared a photo of Raila in a private jet, relaxed and meditative while listening to music.

Along with the photo, there was a message written in English and Luo, which ignited joy among Raila's supporters.

“Gini Wasekawo! CONGRATULATIONS BABAMAN @RailaOdinga,” Kioni wrote.

“Gini Wasekao,” a Luo phrase meaning “we took it,” was popular in Kenya when Gor Mahia When FC won the national league.

The message, though brief, has been widely interpreted as an announcement to celebrate Raila's expected victory.
