The Olympics champion has shared some key characteristics that have turned her into a revered sprinter.
Olympics champion Gabby Thomas is among athletes who were unstoppable in the 2024 season following her success at the Paris Games.
Thomas won three gold medals; the 200m, 4x100m and 4x400m relays which earned her the USA Track and Field Athlete of the Year Award and she has since graced a number of events thanks to her success in Paris.
The 28-year-old has shared some of what has made her a revered sprinter in the world, crediting her resilience for turning her into a fearless athlete.
Gabby Thomas 300m school record had stood for seven years but has now been broken by the fast-rising Canadian sprinter.
“When you build resilience, you become unstoppable,” Thomas posted on X.
Indeed, Thomas has built a resilient spirit through the years which has served her well, having suffered losses before and then bouncing back.
She finished third at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in 200m before winning silver at the 2023 World Championships and kept improving, leading to a triumphant Olympics in Paris last year.
Thomas has had to deal with critics who claim she won her Olympics gold because of the absence of defending champion Elaine Thompson-Herah and world champion Shericka Jackson, who both missed the Games due to injuries.
The American is now tuning up for the 2025 World Championships set to take place in Tokyo and unlike last year, her resilience will be tested even more, given Jackson and Thompson-Herah are back while the likes of Sha’Carri Richardson, Brittany Brown, McKenzie Long and Julien Alfred will provide tough competition.
