Speaking in Laikipia County on Sunday, January 19, Gachagua accused Ruto of deeply interfering in the political affairs of the Union of Kenya First and write speeches to political leaders.

The deputy president said that all MPs loyal to Ruto are still receiving written messages from the national leader.

Gachagua quoted the statement of the Member of Parliament for Webuye West, Dan Wanyama, who hinted at the isolation of Mt Kenya towards the 2027 General Election.
