In an unobjectionable speech, the Prime Minister of Administration reminded Gachagua of his unfitness to hold a public position.

Speaking at a road rally in Kakamega County, Mudavadi reminded Gachagua of the consequences of his leadership being ousted in October 2024.

Mudavadi, who is an important leader in the administration of Kenya First of Ruto, did not hide his criticism of Gachagua, who was one of the founders of the administration.

“The law says this: if you are fired, you cannot hold a public position. You cannot have any public position. Do we understand each other? You will not get even ten houses,” Mudavadi insisted, reminding Gachagua of his future positions in government.

Mudavadi gave examples of governors who were stripped of power and lost their political focus as a way of showing the long-term effects of his removal.

“So, you know that when he was governor in Nairobi, after he was sacked, he did nothing again. Isn't that right? You know that when he was in Kiambu, after he was sacked, he didn't do anything again,” he added.

Mudavadi's warning to Gachagua

The Prime Minister emphasized that it is time to move forward, urging Gachagua to accept his situation.

Mudavadi urged the people of the area to reflect on the law and avoid being manipulated by Gachagua's presence in politics.

“I want, like the people of this area, to use the law, think about it carefully, because we don't want to be played with by a person (known as Rigathi Gachagua) who goes around and can't even hold a public position. Let's not waste our time. Let's move forward,” Mudavadi stressed, urging Kenyans to focus on development.

He also spoke about what he called Gachagua's continued mourning of his political failure, which, according to him, was an obstacle to the country's development.

“So, if someone was crying, they are done crying. The period of mourning is over. Kenya must move forward. Kenya is here to listen to your cry every day,” he announced.

He added that the future of Kenya should not be based on the past and that the country must focus on development under the leadership of the President William Ruto.

“We must move forward, and we must continue to develop the country. And that is where President William Ruto is taking us,” Mudavadi explained.

What did Gachagua promise to Mount Kenya?

On Sunday, January 19, the former deputy president continued his attacks on the Ruto administration.

Speaking in Laikipia County, Gachagua promised to ensure that the Mt Kenya region will not vote for Ruto in the 2027 elections.

Mr. Gachagua, who was the Member of Parliament for Mathira, said he will form a new alliance with other leaders to ensure that the Mt Kenya region will be part of the next government.
