The determined young man spoke of isolation and neglect, recounting how friends and relatives abandoned him in times of trouble.

“This is my request to the President, William Ruto, Sir: please think of the cancer patients. These people are suffering. It is painful. I am a man, and if I tell you the tumor is painful, believe me – I used to sleep at 11 in the evening, and at 3 in the morning, the swelling would wake me up.

Sleep may come around eight in the afternoon, but no one calls or visits me. I have no food at home, no job, and I have cancer. I feel neglected. When I send messages to my friends and relatives, they block me. You know, if I were a weakling, that alone would be enough to kill me,” Nyamlori said.
