The members of the polls body are unimpressed by how long it has taken to settle their dues despite conducting a widely lauded free and fair exercise.
Members of the Football Kenya Federation Electoral board have raised concerns over delay in the payment of their dues following the elections conducted in December.
The board was lauded for conducting a free and fair exercise that saw Hussein Mohammed elected FKF President on December 7 but the team is yet to receive its full dues, leading to an outcry.
Pulse Sports understands the polls body was only paid for one month and had hoped to have received the remaining amount by the end of December but that is yet to happen.

“We only received pay for October and hoped that by the end of 2024, everything else would have settled but we are still waiting. It is frustrating given what we put in to ensure the election was flawless, at times working very late in the night,” a member of the board told Pulse Sports.
Hussein Mohammed is the man tasked with reviving Kenyan football and the new FKF president has little time to celebrate as he needs to sort out some key things immediately.
Aside from the frustration over the pay delay, the chairman of the board Hesbon Owilla has also resigned, adding to the intrigues, with the team’s term also not clearly defined.
With the pay delay, the fate of two county elections hangs in the balance after polls in Nyamira and Homa Bay were suspended over disputes that were resolved in court.
With the court having ordered fresh elections, the Electoral board is required to roll out a road map for when that will happen, but the chairman’s resignation and the issues with the pay leave the exercise in jeopardy.
The FKF Electoral Board was ratified at a Special General Meeting in August 2024 with Owilla joined by Merceline Sande (secretary), James Waindi, former AFC Leopards chairman Dan Mule as well as Alfred Ng’ang’a.
