AFC Leopards coach Fred Ambani has expressed his disappointment at the off-field issues that affected his team’s preparations ahead of Saturday’s costly loss to FC Talanta.
AFC Leopards coach Fred Ambani has seemingly hit out at the club’s management for playing a part in their embarrassing 4-2 loss to FC Talanta on Saturday.
Leopards lost 4-2 to Talanta but the manner in which they threw away the game was alarming, with casual defending to blame for three of the four goals.
Leopards went ahead in the 11th minute through Boniface Munyendo but Talanta would respond three minutes later when Kevin Owino curled in a freekick.

Talanta scored their second goal through Alex Kipruto after a counter-attacking move and Emmanuel Osoro would net the third in some disrespectful manner when he sat on the ball and moved it past the goal line after robbing goalkeeper Humphrey Katasi.
AFC Leopards’ comedy of defensive errors left them embarrassed as their off-field problems spilled over to the pitch, handing struggling FC Talanta a big win.
Kipruto then added the fourth before Ingwe scored the second in time added on through Maxwell Otieno to leave the fans disappointed.
Leopards had come into the match following an off-field issue during the week, having boycotted training on Thursday, due to delayed payment of their full December salaries, and Ambani feels the go-slow affected his team that had been on a five-match unbeaten run before the loss.
“We had a happy camp and we had a good run but when other things come in and start affecting our preparations, it is not good,” Ambani told Azam TV.
“We lost this match but I know it is because of other things that I do not want to talk about because it is disappointing. Now, we have to go back and start preparing again for the next match.”
It does not get any better for Leopards in their next match as they play KCB on Wednesday, a tough encounter given the bankers are second on the log, and Ambani will hope that their off-field issues will be behind them by then.
