What? How did Lugulu Girls School do in 2024 KCSE?

The results have been withheld for several days, they have caused great joy after the school got the best result.

The 2024 results seen by TUKO.co.ke show that the school got an average score of 9.3417. The school achieved 13 As and 93 As, making it one of the best performing students in the Western region.

Of the 676 candidates, 672 achieved the minimum grade of C+ required for direct entry into universities and colleges. Of them, 191 got B+, 232 got B, 118 got B-, and 25 got C+.

Only four students failed to enter university directly, one getting a C, the other a C-, and two getting a D+.

Speaking to reporters, the school's principal Dinah Cheruiyot thanked God for the 2024 KCSE candidates receiving their results, noting that KNEC's decision to suspend the results has caused sleepless nights.

“We have been waiting for the results for a long time, and today, we thank God. We have been waiting for the results for almost two weeks. We received our results yesterday, and we have done very well. The thoughts of so many girls. The lack of their results has made us sleepless at night,” said the statement in part.

Lugulu Girls High School results were released days after KNEC announced that they would be withheld.

KNEC confirmed the suspension of the results of a total of 2,829 candidates across the country due to suspected fraud and the annulment of 840 results for proven errors.

The school administration quickly responded to the news, assuring students and parents that the issue is being addressed.

In a letter signed by the principal, parents and guardians were informed about the situation and assured that efforts to resolve the issue are ongoing.

The announcement surprised the Lugulu Girls community, known for its history of academic excellence.

The Western Regional Director of Education Jared Obiero confirmed that the results were contained, and assured that there was no cause for alarm.

Kimilili Member of Parliament Didmus Barasa also spoke about the issue and assured parents and students that the results will be released after the verification process is completed.

Speaking in the constituency on Saturday, January 11, Didmus disclosed that he has taken up the issue with the Ministry of Education and it will be resolved soon.
