Aisha Jumwa Congratulates President Ruto on Appointing Him as the Head of the Roads Board: “I am very grateful”

Kilifi – Former Minister of Gender Aisha Jumwa has expressed gratitude following his appointment as the chairman of the Kenya Road Board.

The announcement marks his return to public service, months after he was sacked at the height of protest of opposing the government.

Jumwa used his official social media pages to express his gratitude to the President William Ruto.

The politician said he is ready to serve in the new position.

He praised Ruto's visionary leadership, praising his administration for promoting infrastructure development and economic growth.

“I am very honored and very grateful to President William Ruto for appointing me as the Chairman of the Kenya Roads Board. This appointment is an opportunity and a call to service, to which I am fully committed. Under the leadership of HE William Ruto., Kenya's infrastructure continues to change lives and promote economic growth.

“I am encouraged by this development and I promise to work hard to further strengthen this along with BETA. I look forward to serving my fellow Kenyans diligently towards the prosperity of our great nation. God bless Kenya,” wrote Jumwa.

Appointment of Jumwa Road board

Jumwa's appointment was formalized in a gazette notice dated January 17, 2025.

The notice indicated that he will serve as the non-executive chairman of the Kenya Roads Board for a period of three years.

At the same time, Ruto revoked the appointment of Ahmed Kolosh Mohamed, who previously held the post.

As a result, Kolosh was re-appointed as the non-executive chairman of the Kenya Maritime Authority, where he will serve for the same term.

“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 7(1)(a) of the Kenya Roads Board Act, as read with section 51(1) of the Interpretation and General Provisions Act, I, William Samoei Ruto, the President of the Republic of Kenya and the Commander-in-Chief of the Defense Forces, has appointed: Aisha Jumwa Katana as the non-executive Chairman of the Kenya Roads Board for a period of three (3) years, starting on January 17 2025. The appointment of Ahmed Kolosh Mohamed is revoked,” said the statement of the government newspaper.

Kingi congratulates Jumwa's appointment

Earlier, Senate Speaker Amason Kingi wrote a congratulatory message to Aisha Jumwa following her latest appointment to a government post by Ruto.

Kingi used his X account (formerly Twitter), praising Jumwa for his excellent leadership qualities.
