George Natembeya Opens Up About The Last Time He Traveled Outside Kenya Was 2005: “I've Never Been Out Again”

What country did George Natembeya visit the last time he traveled?

Speaking on Sulwe FM, the first-term governor revealed that the last time he traveled outside Kenya was in 2005, when he visited England.

Natembeya jokingly said that the city of Nairobi has recently become his foreign country every time he visits the capital.

“The last time I traveled abroad was in 2005, when I visited England (UK). So when I come to Nairobi, it's like a foreign country to me,” Natembeya said.

Recently, the first term governor revealed how he used KSh 8 million allocated for his foreign trips to buy milk for kindergarten children.

“Travelling abroad is rampant; what will you do? In this last financial year of 2023/2024, the money we would have spent on traveling would have been KSh 8 million, which we saved and used for other things such as providing milk for our kindergarten children ,” Trans Nzoia governor said.

Will Natembeya run for president?

Earlier, Natembeya announced his intention to run for the presidency after finishing his term as governor.

The governor promised to provide Kenyans with an alternative, which offers practical solutions and a leadership style based on accountability and performance.

He emphasized his commitment to bring about changes in the administration aimed at improving the lives of all citizens.

Responding to rumors about his political ambitions, Natembeya denied seeking the position of running mate, saying that such roles often hinder one's vision.

He pointed out that a senior leader may not agree with or support the ideas of a prominent deputy, thus causing friction.

Do Luhya leaders oppose the plans to sue Natembeya?

At the same time, some of the Bukusu Council of Elders strongly warned against any attempt to impeach Governor Natembeya.

The elders gathered in the Museum of Kitaledenounced the plans, threatening serious political consequences if the motion for Natembeya's removal is made.

Led by the chairman of the council, Peter Masinde, the elders spoke strongly against the request to fire him, which has been linked to Natembeya's remarks against the President's government William Ruto.

Natembeya, in a recent radio interview, revealed that some leaders from the union of Kenya First they were reported to be plotting to fire him because of shouting at Ruto.

Masinde was quick to point out that the impeachment proposal lacked solid, legitimate grounds and, in their view, was politically motivated.
