The First Lady, Mama Rachel Ruto Friday donated shoes to all students enrolled at Matuga Girls High School and Mwachome Primary School in Matuga Constituency, Kwale County.
This is a fulfilment of a promise made by the First Lady during Mashujaa Day celebrations in Kwale County, in support of needy children in collaboration with the Aga Khan University Hospital.
Mama Rachel Ruto was represented in the functions by Fatuma Achani, Governor of Kwale County and Mary Muinde, Chief of Staff to the First Lady.
The visit was combined with the launch of Kitchen Gardens, aimed at supporting ongoing school feeding efforts, in support of the 100pc school enrollment, retention and transition policy.
Other leaders present included Mangale Munga Chiforomondo, Kwale County Deputy Director of Education Robert Mukombe and Hanifa Badi Mwajirani, the Leader of Majority, Kwale County Assembly.
