Addressing Parliament during the presentation of the report on the vetting of Ministerial nominees, Ichung'wah stressed that although the role of Members of Parliament is to supervise Ministers, no time will be wasted thinking about the process of dismissing them.

“Mr. Speaker, ministers are not people to waste our time with. The honorable thing that a minister who feels that he has failed his job, or sees that the job is too heavy for him, can do is to resign. They should not waste our time, or waste the president's time,” said Ichung'wah.

In what was seen as an insult directed at the Minister of Public Services Justin Muturi, Ichung'wah added that no ministry or government department is more important than another, if the goal of a public official is to serve the people of Kenya.

“But if your motivation is to do business in the government, then you will find that a certain government ministry or department is more profitable than the one you are currently serving, because you may not be able to get the kind of contracts you used to get in other ministries,” he added.

Talks about the possible removal of Muturi have been fueled by his open criticism of the government's handling of kidnapping cases, as well as his tendency to appear supportive of the former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
