A girl who took the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) 2024 exam has shared her experience.
Clara Cheptoo sat her national examination at Kipsitet Day Secondary School, Kericho County.
He gave an exciting speech recounting the educational challenges he experienced that motivated him to work hard.
“I got a B average,” he said as his speech was interrupted by applause from the audience.
“I tried and worked hard. I used to read until I got a headache. I would take my Bible, pray, then I would continue reading,” he said humbly with his mother by his side.
Cheptoo praises the head teacher after the 2024 KCSE exam
He praised his head teacher, who encouraged him to work hard and focus on his urgent needs at home.
Cheptoo said the head teacher reminded him of the situation of his family, especially his mother who did not have land or a house of her own.
Cheptoo's head teacher encouraged him not to give up his efforts as he wanted to see him build a house for his mother.
“Even with poor conditions, we worked hard. I have been praying to God to bless me and my mother. I want to help her and others,” he said, his voice trembling.
