A young woman from Nyeri county who went missing on Tuesday, December 31, has been found dead.
Jane Wanjiru Mutahi disappeared when she was leaving the church, where she attended a service to welcome the new year on New Year's Eve.
His body was found and removed from a small well in Mukurwe-ini, Gikondi, Nyeri, on Thursday, January 16.
“The suspect, who is the father of her child, was arrested and then released and is now in hiding,” said social rights activist Simon Mwangi Muthiora.

John Kaguchia, Member of Parliament for Mukurwe-ini, visited the grieving family to console them.
He expressed his pain online while offering his sincere condolences to the grieving family following the death of their loved one.
