Where did Judy Thongori die?

Judy, a respected family law practitioner and lawyer, passed away while undergoing treatment in India.

In his statement on Wednesday, January 15, the head of state described Judy as a unique advocate and fighter for justice.

According to Ruto, Judy's commitment to family law and human rights touched many Kenyans, and she will be greatly missed.

“We join family, friends, and the legal fraternity in mourning the passing of Judy Thongori SC, an exceptional advocate and champion of justice. Her dedication to family law and human rights touched many lives and left a lasting impact on our community. Judy's kindness, wisdom and service will be greatly missed and may his soul rest in peace,” President Ruto said.

How did Martha Koome mourn Judy Thongori?

Chief Justice Martha Koome he also expressed his sadness following Judy's death in his condolences.

Koome described the deceased as one of the prominent lawyers in Kenya who had a passion for justice for families, women and children.

“Thongori was a luminary in the legal profession and a passionate defender of justice, especially in matters concerning the family, women and children. We worked closely together during our time at FIDA-Kenya, where I served as Chairman, and he led the Department of Law with unparalleled enthusiasm and beauty. and example in the late 1990s and early 2000s His leadership was important in positioning FIDA-Kenya as a great force in using the law to protect the rights, interests, and dignity of vulnerable women, children and welfare of the family,” CJ Koome said.

The Chief Justice said Judy's contribution in shaping the practice of law in the Family Division of the High Court inspired many legal practitioners.
