Reflecting on societal pressures, Thongori shared how she once felt that in order to succeed professionally, she had to fit in, with pregnant or breastfeeding women often seen as smart.

He encouraged his colleagues to see him as a family man, as he sees them.

The attorney general also suggested that employers support family life by allowing employees to display pictures of their loved ones in their offices as a way to feel cared for and empowered.

Thongori has also urged workers to be unapologetic about their family responsibilities, noting that it gives them depth and value.

She encouraged women, especially pregnant, lactating women, and those with teenage children, to embrace their family identity when applying for jobs, challenging the misconception that children interfere with work.
