Kisumu: 23-year-old man beaten to death after dispute over Wilbaro

Poisonous Shock has spread in Orongo village in East Kisumu Sub-County after a 23-year-old man, Edward Otieno Oyuru, was beaten to death following a trolley dispute.

How Edward Otieno Oyuru was attacked

A police officer in East Kisumu Sub-County, Edward Masivo, confirmed the incident, and said that the assailant identified as Ford Rakwach escaped after committing the crime.

“The suspect is on the run, but we are sincerely looking for him. We ask anyone with information about his whereabouts to come forward,” said Masivo.

Eyewitnesses revealed that Edward had gone to Rakwach's house to collect his trolley, which he had previously left behind after helping the suspect do construction work.

“It seems that the suspect was angered by Edward taking the trolley without his permission. Later he followed him to his house and attacked him with dirty weapons,” the police boss added.

Edward suffered multiple head injuries and was rushed to the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Referral and Professional Hospital (JOOTRH) for treatment. For luck Unfortunately, he died from his injuries while being treated.

“We are very saddened by this sad incident. A young man has lost his life due to something that could have been resolved peacefully,” said one resident who requested anonymity.

The body of the deceased has been transferred to the JOOTRH mortuary while the investigation is ongoing.

Meanwhile, new revelations emerged in the murder case of 29-year-old Lydia Tokesi, whose dismembered body was discovered in the Gataka Forest after disappearing for a week.

Investigation shows that Tokesi took a loan to buy a car for her boyfriend, Joseph Philip Orwa, to help him run a taxi business.

Authorities now believe that Orwa, the prime suspect in her murder, used the same vehicle to transport her body before dumping it near her parents' home in Rongai.

The couple were in a long-term relationship that started when Tokesi was still a communications student at Moi University.

Police reports show Tokesi was last seen alive at the Orwa tenement in Rongai, where investigators suspect he was killed.

The search for Orwa continues, with law enforcement asking anyone with information about his whereabouts to come forward.

As the tragic details continue to unfold, Tokesi's grieving family describes her as a kind-hearted and ambitious girl whose life was tragically cut short.
