Ian's family previously shared that their young man, a recent graduate, was not abducted by the police as claimed.
The 26-year-old mechanical engineer went missing on Tuesday, December 31, and his body was found a few days later.
What kind of person was Ian Sing'oe?
John Korir, who spoke during his son's funeral service, said the young man was so gentle that he could not even kill a fly.
“This was a true young man, brave and smart professionally. He would not say anything to hurt a parent. I also heard from his friends that this young man was good,” he said.
“When I finish, I want to say that if this young man was killed by someone's hand, then as a family we forgive him. I ask God to forgive him so that his son does not go through what we have endured,” he added.
Speaking at the funeral, the grieving father said he sent Ian to a good school, and the young man taught and guided others who wanted to study the subject as well.
“This is a boy I expected a lot from and had big dreams about his life. I didn't know what I would do as a parent, but this boy didn't miss anything,” he said.
How the pastors helped the family find Ian's body
For his part, Ian's mother, known as Pauline Chemutai, said her son's body was found in the water, in the middle of a slippery area, after great prayers from the pastors.
“Pastor Allan said that our son was not in the morgue, hospital or cell and that we should look for him in an area with water and plants,” he said.
