What Patrick Wainaina Jungle said about Matiang'i

On Monday, January 14, the influential former Minister of Internal Affairs, Fred Matiang'i, attended a funeral ceremony in Kiambu county where leaders encouraged him to run for the presidency of the country.

Addressing the mourners, former Member of Parliament for Thika Town, Patrick Wainaina Jungle, expressed his belief that Matiang'i is quite enough to be president.

Wainaina, while criticizing the Kenyan Kwanza government led by the President William Rutohe said the 2027 General Election will produce false leaders in power.

“This is our country. We have decided, we have agreed that this country will be one, and we will take it back from those people who spread lies.

“We have a political party called TNP, The National Party. In that party, you are free to join, and if you join that party, I also call Matiang'i to join the party. We only need one presidential candidate for this country. And we already have a president here ,” said Wainaina.

When Matiang'i rose to speak, he asked Kenyans to maintain unity towards the 2027 General Election.

Responding to Wainaina's request to contest against Ruto in 2027, Matiang'i respectfully indicated that he would consider the issue.

“I'm sure you will realize that we are all the same people, and the challenges that confront us and whatever happens to us, concern us all as one people. Our challenges do not distinguish where you come from, what tribe, what church you go to, and other things like that. Jungle, I heard you ,” said Matiang'i.

How Fred Matiang'i plans to defeat Ruto in 2027

Political analyst, Tom Maoso, said Matiang'i could collaborate with his former president, Uhuru Kenyatta.
