Suna West Member of Parliament Peter Masara has distributed Sh.22 Million bursary set to benefit needy students from secondary schools and tertiary institutions in the constituency.
Speaking during the launch of the bursary programme at the Migori Primary school, Masara stated that the initiative will help needy students pursue their education dreams.
Masara said most of the beneficiaries would get Sh.10,000 each with a few that are extremely needy receiving Sh. 20,000.
The legislator appealed to parents whose students sat for the 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) to ensure that they are placed in universities, polytechnics and Technical Training Institutes (TTI’s) to equip them with the necessary skills.
The MP also disclosed that his National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) has set aside Sh4 million to train boda boda operators and facilitate their issuance with driving licenses.
