Thika: A student identified as Bijou Vemba is over the moon after getting an A of 8 points in the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE), a year, after she scored C-.
What was Chania Girls High School's mean score?
According to TV 47, there were celebrations at MP Shah Chania Girls High School in Thika once they learned of the huge fete by the young woman.
In the results released by Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos, Ogamba the school had one straight A, 14 A minus and a Mean Score of 7.376.
Chief Principal Lilian Wambui Muhuni noted that out of 364 students who sat for last year's exams, 242 will be joining various universities, which translates to a 66.44% transition rate to university.
Additionally, Wambui pleaded with the government to address the new funding model and ensure that students joining universities can access the financial support they need to pursue courses of their choice.
During the announcement, Education CS Julius Ogamba disclosed that some 246, 391 students attained the university entry grades.

In another story, Kennedy Mwaura Njeri was shining with the prestigious A minus score that he got in the 2024 KCSE exam.
Mwaura is from a needy family and had applied to be considered for a scholarship by a local bankbut sadly, he never got a chance as he was overshadowed by people with special needs.
Affecto Foundation's Ndung'u Nyoro said that the boy's case never left his mind, and he went back to his home, then offered to help educate him.
