Junelle Bromfield goes extra mile to make Noah Lyles happy as Olympics champion dedicates room to his favorite pastime

Noah Lyles has taken his love for anime a notch higher following his decision to set aside a room for his favorite pastime, thanks to the decorating skills and creativity of fiancé Junelle Bromfield.

Olympics 100m champion Noah Lyles has never hidden his love for anime (animations), having explained numerous times how it shaped his childhood.

Lyles is a huge fan of both manga (comic books) and anime with Japanese comic series Dragon Ball one of his favourites and now, having moved into a new house with his fiancé Junelle Bromfield, he has decided to dedicate a room to his favourite pastime.

With the help of a friend, Bromfield has been decorating the room with Lyles’ favourite animes and the sprinter cannot wait for it to be ready.


The Kenyan sprint sensation has resumed training ahead of a busy season in 2025.


“Anime room coming together,” Lyles posted on his Instagram story, before adding: “About to be my fav room.”

Lyles delighted fans by showcasing his rare Yu-Gi-Oh card during the Olympic Team Trials, highlighting his passion for the popular trading card game.

In a series of Instagram stories, Lyles excitedly revealed a special gift he received from Konami, the renowned video game developer.


Lyles also showcased white sneakers adorned with White Dragon graphics, perfectly suited for any anime fan, and these are part of what adorns the new room getting ready for him at his house.

In October, he celebrated an iconic scene from Hiromu Arakawa’s famed Japanese manga series Fullmetal Alchemist popularly known as ‘3rd October.’

Lyles, who previously compared his own past hardships to the scene, was among those who retweeted @FMAPerfectShots, an unofficial Fullmetal Alchemist page of the memorable scene ‘3rd October’ on X in remembrance of one of the darkest anime series ever produced.

In March 2024, the sprinter paid glowing tribute to the creator of Dragon Ball, one of the most influential and best-selling Japanese comics of all time, who died aged 68.

Dragon Ball is hugely popular around the world and the comic series has also spawned cartoon and film versions most of which Lyles loves.
