The distraught family of a teenager who disappeared days after graduation has been found dead.
Erick Ouma Ombewa went missing on Tuesday, December 31, during New Year's Eve celebrations after graduating on Friday, December 27.
Ouma's mother confirms her son's body in Bondo
He graduated with a Bachelor of Education (Science) along with his best friend and neighbor, Brian Obutho.
Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Obutho confirmed the sad news about his friend which left him and the family of the deceased emotionally scarred.
“His body was taken to the mortuary. An unknown person took it. Ouma's mother went to the mortuary there Bondo to prove that he is his son. There has been no further information about it, but the investigation is still ongoing,” he said. he pointed out bitterly.

He also noted that the 26-year-old, met his friends on New Year's Eve before the celebrations, he had scars on his face.
Obutho recounts the last moments with Ouma
He painfully recounted the last moments with his college mate, going back to the day they graduated.
“It was the last time we saw each other face to face, despite being neighbors, we have not visited or bumped into each other since then, the day he disappeared I tried to call him but his phone was switched off.
He had mentioned that he never welcomed the new year at home, so as was his custom, he left in the morning. He was going to meet some friends in town,” Obutho said.
Ouma changed his mind around 8pm and decided to meet his other friends at Akala Market, where he would welcome 2025.
Ouma's phone was tracked by the police
They met at the entertainment hall, where they continued the party in the hall where he disappeared.
“I called him the next day, his phone was still not turned off, I visited him at his home, but he was not there, I visited him at his home several days later, but he was still not there, and his phone was still not turned off.
We got the police involved, who tracked and traced his phone to his last whereabouts. The owner of the area also wrote a statement while the investigation continues,” he said.
Obutho said Ouma's mother was depressed following her son's disappearance and was more worried about his well-being after her son's death.

According to the young man, one lecturer allegedly discouraged him and returned home, he was not earning enough money to meet his basic needs.
