The opening of the institute comes about three months after the fire tragedy that claimed the lives of 21 boys.

The re-opening of Hillside Endarasha School marks a new chapter for the institution, which has fully converted to a day school following the tragic disaster on Thursday, September 5.

The former dormitory section has been completely closed, and the school's configuration has undergone major changes to reflect this change.

A noticeable change is the addition of a wall enclosing the old dormitories, which previously housed more than 300 students.

Additionally, the school has chosen a change in its trademark color as part of its efforts to rebuild and restore its normalcy.

The Ministry of Education authorized the institution to resume its activities, giving parents assurance about the safety and quality of education their children will receive.

“The owner of the school was told to make plans with the government, and they have been able to do so, we see that the school has changed, they have even painted a new color, and it has a new look,” he saw. Ruth Ndirangu, parent.

Why parents are optimistic about Hillside Endarasha

Despite the tragedy, the situation was optimistic as parents and their children headed to school to begin their educational journey.

Margaret Ndirangu, who is a parent at the institution, expressed confidence in the school's ability to create a good learning environment and added that they have tried to advise the children.

“We expect a good result because we have talked to the children and they have accepted the tragedy, and we see that it is something that happened and usually happens in other schools,” he said.

Parents expressed their faith in the management of the school and hope that the institution will continue to do well academically.

“We have brought the children back here because of success and we have hope in this school, because it has done well and we know it will continue to do well.. in studies and other areas such as music and dancing. this area is far from public schools and we are proud of the success of this school, so we are happy to see this school open,” Samuel Gitonga, another parent, said.

Ruto orders an investigation into the Hillside Endarasha fire

Following the fire, the President William Ruto authorized the Ministry of the Interior to quickly investigate the tragedy of the fire that befell the school.

The President, while consoling the affected schools and families, suggested that the fire broke out because of laxity on the part of the school.
