Are there plans to remove George Natembeya from power?
Natembeya claimed that there are people planning to remove him from office after criticizing the President William Ruto publicly asking him to deal with the increase in kidnapping cases in the country.
Speaking to TV47, the governor claimed that those planning to oust him are the same people responsible for the kidnapping.
He said that the Constitution of Kenya gives citizens the freedom to express their opinions openly on various issues.
“Why do people get angry when I express my opinion to the point of finding fault? They are doing this with the aim of removing me from office because I have exercised my freedom of expression,” said Natembeya.

Natembeya claimed that some people are trying to destroy his reputation by implying that he is collaborating with the former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua.
He said that although Gachagua is not his enemy, he has never discussed politics with him at any time.
“There are people who try to flatter themselves to the president by saying that I work with Gachagua. Gachagua and I are not enemies and we have never discussed politics. We have never contacted each other on the phone to discuss political matters,” Natembeya said.
Was Ichung'wah Angry Because of Natembeya's Statements?
Natembeya's statements come a few days after Kikuyu Member of Parliament, Kimani Ichung'wah, criticized him for his remarks on kidnapping.
He seemed to suggest that the governor should collaborate with the former vice president Rigathi Gachagua to continue the politics of division.
He also linked Natembeya to kidnappings and murders during the administration of Uhuru Kenyatta.
Ichung'wah's remarks made Natembeya threaten to take legal action. He asked Ichung'wah to apologize within three days and warned of defamation charges if the MP failed to comply.
