The Internet is on fire as Museveni's son General Muhoozi publicly threatens to destroy Bobi Wine

His son the President of Uganda Yoweri Museveni, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has sparked outrage after threatening to kill opposition leader and activist Bobi Wine.

The statements, made on Sunday, January 5, on the social networking platform X, have sparked strong criticism.

Muhoozi, who holds a high position in the Ugandan army, claimed that only his father is stopping him from harming Bobi Wine.

“Kabobi knows that the only person who protects him from me is my father. If the old man was not there, I would cut off your head today,” he wrote.

Bobi Wine, responding to the threats, termed them as cowardice but noted their seriousness due to previous attacks on his life and the deaths of others that allegedly occurred under Museveni's administration.

“Threats from his son Museveni (who is also the head of the Ugandan army) to hang me is not something I take lightly, considering that many have been killed by him and his father, and due to their several attempts to harm me. I refuse to be intimidated by a cowardly regime. World testifies,” he said.

Why is Muhoozi threatening to kill Bobi Wine?

The tension boiled over as Muhoozi asked Bobi Wine to pay the “loan” he owed, thus increasing the verbal conflict between them.

He claimed that he and other army generals planned to use Bobi Wine to weaken Kizza Besigye, a key opposition leader.

“It was our idea, me and other generals. We convinced the old man that we could use Kabobi to remove Kizza Besigye from the position of being the leader of the opposition. After helping him with a lot of money and he was successful, he started insulting us,” Muhoozi demanded.

The tension on social media sparked comments from Ugandans, many of whom expressed their support for Bobi Wine and condemned the threats.
