A new study shows that the Vice President Kithur Kindiki he may consolidate the Mt Kenya area with many votes before the 2027 General Election.
Who is the new head of Mt. Kenya?
A Politrack Africa poll conducted between November 9 and November 13, 2024, shows overwhelming public approval of Kindiki's leadership across multiple performance dimensions.
“With ratings ranging from 69% to 78% in various fields, the results highlight great confidence in his ability to carry out his duties, promote regional unity, address national challenges, and promote national harmony,” the poll reads in part.

Politrack Africa says these results underline the growing influence and trust of Kindiki among the people, placing him as an important figure in regional representation and national leadership.
“The figures show a clear sense of optimism and renewed hope in his leadership ability moving forward. The results show that Kindiki enjoys a strong approval rating in all aspects measured,” the poll report reads.
It adds more, “This reflects the positive outlook of his leadership, and new hope and regional representation is emerging as a positive force.”
Although regional unity could be improved, the poll suggested that overall ratings reflect positive and optimistic public sentiment about the Kurdish leadership.
The person who ranked second in the country is the leader with 62.1 percent, followed by Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro with 17.9 percent.
Former vice president Rigathi Gachagua came third with 9.1%. The referendum was held as hatred in the Mt Kenya area increased after parliament expelled Gachagua.
Governor of Kirinyaga Anne Waiguru he emerged a distant fourth with 6.2% of all votes, with the leader of the majority in the national assembly Kimani Ichung'wah completing the top five with 3.1%.
Do Kenyans have faith in Kithure Kindiki?
The survey also found that 63.4% of Kenyans have great confidence in Kindiki's ability to carry out his duties as deputy president, while only 2.3% strongly disagreed.
Kindiki has become the new deputy president of Kenya after the Senate voted to impeach Gachagua.
Gachagua's legal attempts to delay Kindiki's swearing-in ceremony failed.
The 52-year-old law professor served as the president's Minister of Internal Affairs Ruto for two years.
