The newspaper reported that parents with students who took the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) last year have been asked to allow their children to continue to Grade 7 even as they wait for their results.
This followed reports that some students did not report to school yesterday because the results had not yet been released. However, this is a misconception since the transition to high school is automatic, and the result of KPSEA are not used for planning.
Basic Education Principal Secretary Belio Kipsang said that the KPSEA reports are ready and will be posted directly to school websites on the Kenya National Examinations Council website.
Grade 6 students took the national assessment last October.

According to the publication, the police in Nakuru launched a manhunt for the suspect believed to be involved in the murder of a middle-aged woman.
The body of the 36-year-old woman was discovered on her bed in a tenement house in Shalom Estate, Luckseveral days after she was reported missing.
Nakuru North Sub-County Police Commander Lilies Wachira said worried neighbors raised the alarm after a bad smell started coming from the house.
“Police officers arrived at the scene but found no response from inside the house. They forced their way in and discovered the woman's decomposing body, with visible injuries,” said Wachira.
The Little County Police Commander said the woman was last seen entering the home on January 1, 2025, accompanied by a man believed to be her husband.
“The couple were new to the rental house and hadn't even spent a week since they moved in. It seems she died a few days ago,” said Wachira.
He added that the alleged husband, who is the person responsible for the suspected murder incident, was running away and was being followed by detectives. The suspect left his motorcycle and mobile phone inside the house.
“We are confident we will find him and reveal the circumstances of his death and any differences they had before the incident,” he said.

According to the newspaper, former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua and his allies have intensified their efforts to find a political party while planning a war against their former boss, President William Ruto.
The daily noted that Gachagua and his close associates have been aggressively trying to acquire the Kenya Reform Party (KRP), a Limuru Road outfit registered in 2016.
If the KRP deal fails, the former DP and his allies are also said to be considering registering a “Village Movement,” a new political outfit.
There are also indications that he can work with the national party associated with the former Member of Parliament Thika Wainaina Jungle City.
On December 30, the former MP posted a picture of himself with Gachagua with the caption, “party leaders consulting.”
Central Embakasi Member of Parliament Benjamin Gathiru did not confirm or deny the reports but suggested that the new party cannot be removed from the 2027 game plan.
