Has the KCSE 2024 result been delayed?
The Ministry of Education has assured stakeholders and Kenyans in general that there will be no delay in releasing the results.
Basic Education Secretary Belio Kipsang on Thursday, December 26 2024, confirmed that the results will be released within the same timeframe as last year, despite growing rumors about delays.
“This is the second year we give results in January. The problem for all of us is that, when we release in December, we all say that we are rushing to deliver results,” said Dr Kipsang.
Kipsang also dismissed allegations of cheating, assuring parents and students that the integrity of the results still stands.
The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has been working to complete the analysis of the results of the largest batch of KCSE in history.
The council is also analyzing results from the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA), adding to its workload.
Education stakeholders, led by the Kenya Secondary School Heads Association (KESSHA), have urged KNEC to focus on transparency. KESSHA Chairman Willy Kuria reiterated the need to remove grading systems and review the performance-based promotion of teachers, which they claim creates undue pressure and encourages misconduct.
“We are advocating for policies that focus on the holistic development of students rather than a single grade point average,” said Mr. Kuria.
Dr. Kipsang assured the public that the examiners have been given enough time to ensure accuracy and fairness.
“Every student will get the grade they deserve for four years of hard work,” he said.
When will KCSE 2024 result be declared?
PS Kipsang said on December 26, 2024, that the 2024 KCSE results will be released within 10 days.
Given that 10 days have passed, there is a possibility that the results could be released anytime this week.
