Embu – Social media influencer Billy Mwangi has spoken about his ordeal of being kidnapped a day after he was released.
When was Billy Mwangi captured?
Billy was among the five youths who were released on Monday, January 6, after spending 15 days in captivity.
He was kidnapped on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at a barber shop in Embu while he was waiting to be shaved.
In his first interview since being reunited with his family, Billy said he has forgiven those who planned his abduction.
Billy said he has never experienced the hardships he experienced in life, but he has decided to leave it all in God's hands.
“Those who kidnapped me and put me in that situation, which I have never found myself in. I don't have any criminal record, and even my parents know that. But I want to forgive them, human beings make mistakes, so I have left it to God. Let me deal with my life and my parents,” Billy said.

In a recent interview with his parents, Billy revealed that his mental condition has not fully recovered from the ordeal despite receiving treatment at Embu Level 5 Hospital.
However, he insisted that he will not say much about where he was held by his captors, as he is still recovering psychologically.
“I haven't been mentally well. I left the hospital yesterday, and I couldn't recognize anything,” he added.
When asked if he was being given food by his captors, Mwangi insisted that he could not explain his diet because the condition he was in was not good.
“I can't talk about food because the situation was not good for me. I am still consuming the medicine given to me by the doctor. I have been psychologically tortured,” he added.
