Billy was released on Monday, January 6, and his parents, Gerald Karicha and Regina Wairimu, are very happy.

A lovely photo shared by a CNN reporter, Larry Madowocaptured a touching moment between Billy and his mother, who kissed him lovingly on the cheek shortly after his release.

The family had been through anxious weeks, fearing the worst, but now they are celebrating his safe return.

The photo has touched the hearts of Kenyans online, sparking emotional comments:
