Soi: Eyewitnesses shared a painful experience when a truck veered off its path and collided with three crowded with passengers on the Eldoret-Kitale Highway.

The accident that happened on December 3, at 9 am, involved a Great Rift tricycle and a truck.
According to those who witnessed the incident, an Isuzu truck was heading towards it Kitale while the matatu has picked up passengers from Matunda Shopping Center along the main road.
Eyewitnesses said the truck driver allegedly caused the accident after he left his lane and collided head-on with a matatu.
Nine passengers and the driver of the matatu died on the spot, while another died while being transported to the Moi Referral Hospital in the city Eldoret.
“We don't know what exactly happened to cause the accident, but we almost lost everyone in the 3. Five men and the same number of women were killed,” Soi Police Commander Henry Zuma said.

A woman identified as Morine Olure explained that one of the cars hit the bus she was traveling on, and they were lucky to escape with only minor injuries.
A witness identified as Aaron Omurwa was relieved that there were not many vehicles on the road, or the trailer would have swept it all away.
