Kajiado – Jacinta Anyango, the grieving mother of 12-year-old Kennedy Onyango, who was tragically shot when protest against the government in Rongai, he has opened up about his pain.
Despite the President William Ruto promising to reach him and give him an explanation, Anyango revealed that he has not heard from the government since his son's death.
In an emotional interview with KTN News, Anyango recounted Ruto's promise he made during a live interview with journalists.

The president, when asked about Kennedy's death, assured the nation that he would contact the grieving mother.
While on the X and Gen Zs space chat, the head of state also claimed to have contacted the mother at the meeting.
“I saw him being asked by the Minister of Information, he said, 'If the child has died, I will call the parent, I will reach the mother and him. As of today, as we speak, he has not yet done so,” Jacinta said with tears in her eyes.
Despite Ruto's assurance in June 2024 that he would meet him and explain the circumstances of his son's sudden death.
Why did Ruto meet Anyango?
The president's words during a table interview from the White House promised that the parent himself, would ensure justice for Kennedy and provide clarification on the incident.
“I, as the president, will make sure that finally, I will give him an explanation of what happened and make sure we bring this situation where I have children and his child can also be counted,” Ruto said.
Anyango's pain is compounded by the slow progress of justice for his son.
He shared how the Independent Police Oversight Authority (IPOA) asked him to testify, but he can provide his son's account as proof of the tragedy.
The Rongai boy who was shot was traveling abroad
Earlier, Onyango was reportedly shot dead when a government report in Ongata-Rongai turned into violence.
A postmortem examination of the body of the 12-year-old boy showed that he died of massive bleeding caused by a single bullet that severed the arteries and veins and punctured his death.
Addressing the media outside the Sub-County Hospital of Ongata Rongaihis mother revealed that Onyango wanted to be an artist.
The grieving mother explained that her son's teachers had seen his potential, and some were advising him.
He recounted some of their conversations, noting the moments when the boy shared his dream in America.
