Embu – Former vice president Rigathi Gachagua has slammed the Majority Leader in the National Assembly, Kimani Ichung'wah, accusing him of masterminding the recent kidnappings.
Gachagua dismissed the claims as baseless lies while addressing mourners at the funeral of Eric Mutugi Kivuti, his son former senator Lenny Kivuti, Kanyuambora area, North Mbeere Sub-County, Friday, January 3.
He pointed out the inconsistencies in the President's statements William Ruto about the kidnapping of government critics.
“Even now, regarding the kidnapping, the President said there was none, he repeated it almost five times, that is not the case, he recently admitted that there are, now I have seen his puppet, the messenger he uses lying to him. Kenyans, saying this kidnapping is coordinated by Rigathi Gachagua, isn't that nonsense?” Gachagua said.
He asked the leaders in the administration of Kenya First respecting the minds of Kenyans, accusing Ichung'wah of not lying.
“Isn't that nonsense? Can you respect Kenyan people? Kenyan people are very intelligent, and you run out of lies,” he said.
Earlier, Ichung'wah had linked Gachagua to kidnapping cases when he was addressing mourners at the funeral of the mother of National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang'ula, Maayi Nanyama.
He claimed that Gachagua was behind the kidnapping, suggesting that they were part of a conspiracy to discredit Ruto.
What challenges did Gachagua face in the government?
Gachagua continued to highlight his troubles during his tenure in government claiming he faced challenges.
The former Member of Parliament for Mathira claimed that the government is being run on lies and he could not follow as he is loyal to the truth in anything.
“Kenya's problem is an issue of lies, that is why I faced a challenge in the government, because I am a person of truth, and they are people of lies, you have lied to people until you have started to believe your lies. ,” the former vice president added.
