At least nine people have been confirmed dead in a fatal accident on the Eldoret-Kitale highway on Friday, January 3.
What caused the Eldoret-Kitale highway accident?
Speaking after the tragic incident, Uasin Gishu police commander Benjamin Mwanthi said that the accident occurred when a truck collided with three which was coming near Chemoset area in Soy.
Mwanthi said that it is believed that the matatu was being driven at high speed before it swerved out of its lane, causing the accident.
He also confirmed that the accident left four people with serious injuries, and that they were rushed to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in the city Eldoret for treatment.
