Wetang'ula, in photos distributed on social networks, was seen wiping tears while looking at his mother's body and in the tents during the funeral service.

The speaker was surrounded by family, friends, and mourners who had come to say goodbye to Mama Anna Nanyama Wetang'ula.

Moses Wetang'ula mourns his mother

He shared an emotional message on his social media pages, noting that the family will remember his mother's sincere love.

“Today, as we take the body of our beloved mother to her resting place, we are reminded of the deep love, wisdom and strength she shared with us,” reads part of the article.

He also thanked them for the time they shared with Mama Nanyama, and promised to honor them despite her death.

“Although our hearts are very sad, they are also full of gratitude for the precious times we shared. This is not just a loss but a celebration of a wonderful life that touched many and left an indelible mark on all of us,” he added.

Wetang'ula vowed to honor his legacy and continue the values ​​he held dear.

“As we head home together, let's honor her legacy with unity, love and a promise to continue the values ​​she respected so much. In the words of 2 Timothy 4:7, our dear mother fought the good fight, finished the course and kept the faith. Rest in peace, Maayi ; your light will guide us forever,” he wrote.

When will Janet Wanja be buried?

In separate news, TUKO.co.ke reported that a sense of gloom prevailed at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani Indoor Arena, during the request of volleyball star Janet Wanja.

Wanja was diagnosed with gallbladder cancer on December 26, 2024, and is expected to be buried on Friday, January 3, at the Lang'ata cemetery in Nairobi.
