The 40-year-old volleyball star kept her personal life private, and one of those praises came from Dr. James Ondiege, the national rugby team doctor.

In his tribute, Ondiege, spoke about their relationship, recalling the pleasures and the disgusts. He also revealed the most precious gift, a band that Wanja gave him.

“Hey, I know you're reading this. Now I know what's better; a second, a minute, an hour, a day is better than not meeting you. Smiles, laughs, arguments, cries, (sigh) This life is not balanced. ; up, down, under depth – the choice we made, the promise we made, I will put my end well.

Wanja's family, his teammates were overwhelmed with emotion

In another story, a sad atmosphere spread inside the Indoor Stadium when a group of volleyball players stood at the entrance of the requiem hall and others in the middle of the volleyball court, where they practiced.

Participants of the vote, which included Kenya Pipeline volleyball team and Malkia Strikers, arrived at the hall, led by Wanja's brother, Kevin Kimani.

Players threw a football over his casket as they observed a moment of silence to honor the departed soul.

Wanja's two brothers broke down as they read his tribute, bringing mourners to tears.
