Deputy President Kithur Kindikiwho has not been seen in public lately, has broken his silence.
This comes following online rumors after Kindiki missed the President's New Year party William Ruto on Tuesday, December 31 at Kisii Palace.
What did Deputy President Kindiki say?
The deputy president, who has been in office for about two months, did not directly address the online rumors about the rift with his boss, Ruto.
However, Kindiki, appearing to urge Kenyans to stay away from rumours, posted on X on Wednesday, January 1, saying the new year offers an opportunity to refocus on the country's growth and development.

“Now is the time for every citizen to revive the determination to work hard towards a better future and a united nation,” the statement in Kindiki read in part.
In addition, he emphasized the possibility of accelerating development towards a society without fear and need, concluding his post with a prayer to pray for God's blessings in the country.
“In this way, we will accelerate the fulfillment of our vision of a society without fear and need. May God bless this land and our nation,” he added.
Is there a conflict between Kindiki and Ruto?
In a separate story, Dennis Itumbi, Head of Creative Economy and Special Projects, strongly dismissed reports of a rift between Ruto and Kindiki.
Itumbi took to social media, calling the claims baseless and challenging critics to create bigger lies.
Itumbi reiterated that Ruto and Kindiki are aiming to fulfill the promises of their administration, and any attempt to create a rift between them is futile.
He said that the success and projects of the administration in the new year will demonstrate the commitment of the government Kenya First fulfill his promises to Kenyans.
