Nairobi— Head of Economic Innovation and Special Projects Dennis Itumbi has strongly dismissed reports of bad blood between President William Ruto and the Deputy President Kithur Kindiki.
Using social media, Itumbi called the allegations baseless, and challenged critics to come up with more meaningful lies.
Itumbi reiterated that Ruto and Kindiki are focused on implementing the promises of their administration and that any attempts to create differences between them are futile.
He said that in the new year, the success of administrations and projects will speak.
“Ati DP Kindiki Kithure was slapped by Farouk. lies. ati, there is a stalemate; please create a lasting lie. The president and his deputy are busy implementing a plan, this year projects and programs will talk. 2025, we will talk. show your lies in real time,” Itumbi wrote.
When was the last time Kindiki was seen with Ruto
The second in office has been the center of intense speculation just 60 days into his role, with questions being raised about his absence from several important public events alongside Ruto.
The rumors came to an end after Kindiki missed celebrating the New Year at the Kisii State Hall, where Ruto addressed senior officials and highlighted the administration's achievements while welcoming the year with pomp and joy.
Kindiki's last public appearance was on Friday, December 17, 2024, at the Baringo Cultural Festival and Kimalel Goat Auction, where he confirmed his commitment to work under Ruto's leadership.
However, since then, the vice president has been off the public radar, with his one-line New Year's message further fueling speculation about a possible fall.
Kindiki answers the critics
Elsewhere, Kindiki dismissed claims that he was the “yes man,” insisting on his constitutional role as the president's top aide.
Kindiki explained that his job is to give personal advice to Ruto, not to openly oppose his policies.
Responding to accusations from former DP Rigathi GachaguaKindiki confirmed his loyalty to the people of Kenya and the constitution.
Kindiki defended his leadership style, stressing that honesty defines his working relationship with Ruto.
