Nakuru – A man whose home was broken into by gunmen who later claimed to be police officers has spoken out about the horrific ordeal.

The men are believed to be police officers who were looking for cartoonist Gideon Kibet, aka Kibet Bull.

He revealed that the incident happened early in the morning when the man was at home with his family.
“So I came home, we had dinner with my family, we went to bed. At about 3:30 in the morning, I was woken up by a loud banging on the door, a loud bang! You could feel the foundation of the house shaking. . I wondered who had the courage to knock on the house like that , especially since we have security in this area,” began in an interview with NTV Kenya.
Without wasting time, the man called the property security. His neighbors, however, were reluctant to intervene, preferring to stay inside and watch from their windows.
Moments later, a group of about seven men entered the man's bedroom, all brandishing automatic weapons.
“After a while, I saw about seven men enter my room brandishing automatic weapons, black plastic ones that looked more modern. For the first time I found myself looking at guns pointed directly at me. When they saw me, they seemed to realize that they were they have made a mistake, it was not a good place I saw they loosened their weapons,” he revealed.

How did a man from Nakuru know that those who attacked him were the police
Sitting on the bed with his arms raised, the man had to cooperate with the armed men, who despite their aggressive tactics, seemed to calm down as soon as they realized their mistake.
They questioned him and inspected his house before turning their attention to his wife and children.
The family was later informed that the attackers were police officers, although the man denied hearing any calls for them to open the door.
They told me, “Old man, we are police officers. Why didn't you open the door when we called?” I told them I didn't hear them calling,” the man said.
The torture made his wife unable to breathe in shock, she sat down until she calmed down. The attackers soon left the house, blaming the man for not answering the door.
After the incident, the man reported the raid at Njoro Police Station and the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI).
However, DCI denied knowledge of the operation, explaining that they would be in the loop if such a mission were to take place in the jurisdiction.
“I went out and went to give information at the Njoro Police Station, I reported everything that happened, they took my information, then I went to the DCI, they told me they were not aware of the incident. it was a DCI operation, the team should have reported and informed them before carrying out any operations in our area,” he added.
