British Olympian Josh Kerr eyes dominant 2025 season after a stellar 2024 campaign.
World 1500m champion Josh Kerr has set his ambitions high for 2025, aiming to solidify his status as a top-tier middle-distance runner.
Following an exceptional 2024 season, Kerr is now focusing on maintaining his winning streak and achieving a range of goals on and off the track.
Josh Kerr has shared his emotional preparations for the upcoming season, reflecting on challenges and his commitment to improvement.
“All of it’s now just like, let’s go out and win as much as we can,” Kerr shared in a recent video on his YouTube channel.
Reflecting on his journey through Tokyo and Paris, he described the Olympics as “a really fun ride” but emphasized that his current focus is on conquering a variety of key competitions.
The British Olympian has outlined a comprehensive agenda for 2025, including triumphing at Grand Slam meets, excelling in Diamond League events, and defending his world titles both indoors and outdoors.
“To win as many Diamond Leagues as I can and to go ahead and retain my world title, indoor and out, those are the kind of immediate goals,” he said.
Beyond his athletic aspirations, Kerr also highlighted the importance of securing long-term stability in his career.
UKA athletics chief held a meeting with Grand Slam organisers but failed to find a common ground, throwing into doubt the Michael Johnson-organised event.
“We’re going through that process of trying to re-sign these contracts and, yeah, get some job security,” he noted, hinting at negotiations with sponsors and professional commitments.
Kerr’s determination to dominate the track and his proactive approach to career planning signal an exciting year ahead for the reigning champion.
