Nairobi – Former chief justice David Maraga He has asked President William Ruto to deal with cases of kidnapping, murder and other human rights violations that have plagued the country.
In a strong New Year's message, Maraga condemned the illegal detention and abuse of Kenyan youth, demanding their immediate release.
Maraga emphasized the respect for the sanctity of life and dignity of every citizen as stipulated in the Constitution.
“The killing, maiming and kidnapping of Kenyan youths has put our institutions to a great test. It demands a moral response. If we are people sworn to the sanctity of the life and dignity of every citizen, then we must have courage. in the truth of our Constitution I curse killings, torture and kidnappings and calling for the immediate release of young people who are still being held unlawfully and carelessly,” said Maraga.
He cited the 2010 Constitution as a beacon of hope and reform, reminding Kenyans of the great powers they have given to this vision.
“Loyalty to the Constitution is a fundamental matter. It puts us all at the core of our responsibility to build a just society,” Maraga insisted.

How Gachagua wronged Ruto about the kidnapping
Previously, the former vice president Rigathi Gachagua he criticized Ruto for keeping quiet about the kidnapping.
Addressing journalists from his home in Nyeri on Friday, December 27, Gachagua claimed to be silent Ruto spoke loudly about his indirect involvement in the atrocity, and called for him to take full responsibility.
