Former nominated senator Millicent Omanga has highlighted the challenges and triumphs she faced in 2024 in an end-year message to Kenyans.
Omanga, in a statement, revealed that while she had a fair share of triumphs in 2024, the year equally had its instances of challenges.
“2024 has been a year of challenges and triumphs, of lessons learned and milestones achieved. Through it all, you’ve been there, cheering me on, and for that, I am endlessly thankful,” Omanga said.
She regarded her followers as her greatest source of motivation, noting that they have been with her through her moments of brilliance and low moments.
“As this year comes to a close, I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you. Your support, love, and encouragement have been the foundation of my journey this year,” she stated.
During 2024, she flaunted high-end cars that she revealed that she had acquired through hard work and blessing.
Omanga’s gift from husband
In June, the former senator revealed that a high-end Range-Rover she had flaunted on social media was a gift from her husband after social media users claimed that she had been irregularly awarded government tenders.
At the time, the youth were agitating for accountability for public officers and the government to drop punitive tax measures.
“I need to clear a misconception. I neither work for the government nor am I a tenderpreneuer in this government. I’m a private person doing private business. I’ve never benefited from this gov either in cash or in kind,” she clarified.
On November 11, 2024, Omanga flaunted another high-end Bentley Bentayga estimated to be over Ksh20 million.
The exotic car boasts all-wheel steering, lavish interior massage heated and cooled seats and a high-performance level with capabilities of going from 0-100Km/h in under 5 seconds.
Rejected Ruto’s appointment
She equally rejected President William Ruto’s appointment to the board of the Nairobi Rivers Commission previously headed by Ferdinand Waititu.
“I’m deeply honoured and grateful to H.E. William Ruto for the trust you’ve shown in appointing me to serve on the Nairobi Rivers Commission,” she said.
“It’s truly a privilege to be considered for such a vital role in improving our beloved Nairobi’s environment and public health; however, after careful consideration, I must respectfully decline the appointment due to personal reasons.”
She was, however, appointed to the board of the Local Authorities Provident Fund (LAP FUND) for a period of three years alongside two other members.
