1. Jahmby Koikai
In June, Njambi 'Jahmby' Koikai lost her life due to endometriosis.
The journalist died a few days after asking his fans to donate blood through social media.
The popular reggae presenter, popularly known as Fyah Mama, was struggling in the hospital from time to time due to the illness.
2. Rita Tinina
A prominent journalist of NTV He died in March at his home in Kileleshwa, Nairobi.
Tinina, 46 years old, did not come to work, and when they tracked her down, they found her dead.
The autopsy report showed that Tinina died of severe pneumonia.
One of his most notable works was covering the case of six Kenyans who were being prosecuted at the International Criminal Court (ICC) for their alleged involvement in the post-election violence of 2007-2008.
3. Dickens Movers
Dickens Wasonga, journalist of The Star under Radio Africa Group, lost his life in a road accident.
The fatal accident happened on Friday, January 26, where Wasonga, being alone, hit a trailer and died on the spot.
Dickens, former chairman of the Journalist Network of Poisonouswas a highly respected figure in the news industry.
4. Shadrack Mitty
He died in May while receiving treatment at the Kiambu county hospital.
Mitty was a journalist who specialized in writing about education issues.
Before joining Standard Media, Mitty worked in Kenya News Agency and Nation Media Group-QTV.
5. Mike Oyer
Television journalist, Mike Oyier, died while receiving treatment at Nairobi Hospital.
Oyier was known for his English language skills and the interesting interviews he conducted.
People in the media industry and Kenyans in general mourned the death of the writer.
