- The woman from Nakuru was forced to live in the forest with her baby after she was left homeless
A girl from Nakuru county, who is living in a miserable situation, has opened up about her challenges.
Margaret Wairimu Nyambura hid in the bush with her baby after being abandoned by her boyfriend.
How old is Margaret Nyambura?
The 23-year-old mother of two was left in the hospital while giving birth to her now one-month-old son.
Nyambura narrated how she met her lover, an old man, after leaving her five siblings and their father.
“After the death of our mother, life was difficult for us. I had to send my siblings to our father to earn a living. I did unsustainable labor jobs, and the working conditions were bad. One day I went to a boda boda operator and asked him to find me a husband He took me and took me to the old man who was paralyzed.” he said.
They stayed with the old man who gave him food and shelter, something that was a priority for Nyambura.
How did Nyambura get to the hospital?
They had their first child, and life continued well until Nyambura became pregnant with her second child.
“When I was seven months pregnant, I asked him to lend me money to buy clothes for the baby. He was aggressive, telling me that he was tired of helping my family at home despite my siblings having a father. He beat me with his walking stick before a neighbor came to my rescue and took me to the hospital.
The life of my unborn child was in danger, so I had to undergo surgery and put the child in an incubator,” he remembered.
Why did Nyambura's girlfriend move to another house?
Her boyfriend had found a bigger house elsewhere, saying he wanted them to move to accommodate a growing family.
Nyambura had left his first son behind while he was receiving treatment in hospital.
“My neighbor who took me to the hospital told me that my lover didn't come home and had already moved with everything, leaving us in poverty. I sent my first child to my father while I stayed with his younger brother. I couldn't find a place to live, and that's how I found myself here, “ he said bitterly.
