William Ruto's Silence Indicates He Approves Kidnapping Cases, Gachagua Says

The former vice president pointed out that brutal actions against citizens who criticize the government indicate that the security agencies have failed to fulfill their duties to protect the citizens.

Speaking to journalists from his home in Nyeri on Friday, December 27, Gachagua claimed with strong emotion that the silence of the President William Ruto you mean his indirect participation in those acts of kidnapping, calling him fully responsible.

“He must take full responsibility and deal with this violation of rights immediately. Remaining silent or doing nothing indicates that these actions are done with his knowledge and approval. It is impossible to ignore that the only link between the victims is their criticism of the President and his government,” said Gachagua.

In addition, he claimed that he knows the network that operates the kidnapping.

According to Gachagua, a special unit created to monitor critics is operating from a building in Nairobi and is led by a high-ranking officer apart from Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja.

He vowed to expose those behind the network if the unit is not dismantled.

Why Gachagua Wants IG Kanja To Resign

Gachagua continued to pressure the Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja and the director general of the Department of Criminal Investigation (DCI) Mohamed Amin to resign for failing to perform their duties.

He said the two have failed to take action while Kenyans are endangering their safety by criticizing the government.

In addition, he continued his attacks against the director general of the National Intelligence Service (NIS), Noordin Haji, asking him to resign for failing to perform his civil duties.
