Blessing Cherotich has not returned home or contacted his worried family for a week.

It was last seen on Tuesday, December 17, before mysteriously disappearing.

Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Mary Chelangat, Cherotich's mother, told how she last spoke to her daughter.

“He left home early in the morning to go to Kipchoge Keino Stadium. He is an athlete so he was going to meet the coach. I looked for him to train with his fellow athletes. He usually goes with his younger brother, and sometimes we go out together when I go to work, but that day he wanted to leave earlier.

I only gave him a one-way fare because I knew we would meet in town as is our custom, and then we would go home together. Little did I know that it would be the last time I would see and talk to him,” he said.

Where did Cherotich go after practice?

After his practice, Cherotich left the field and headed for town, where he met his mother at a meeting place.

When he got to the meeting place, he changed his mind and went to visit his friend, Tracy, to say hello.

“He did not find him because the neighbor told Tracy that he had gone to the village to visit his grandmother. Cherotich did not hesitate, he turned and started the journey back to the city. That was the last time he was seen,” he said.

Chelangat added that before her first form daughter went to visit her friend, she seemed worried.

“Also, he doesn't go anywhere without telling me. He doesn't have a phone, so every time he goes somewhere he borrows a phone and lets me know where he is. This was not his norm. I have reported this to the police and his school,” he said bitterly.

Anyone with information about the girl is asked to contact Chelangat at 0726161663.
