Newspapers: The Accident That Killed 7 People In Narok Occurred 2 Minutes After Another Accident Happened

The Standard

It has been revealed that the accidents that cost the lives of seven people on the Narok-Mai Mahiu road occurred two minutes after another accident took place.

The accident on Monday, December 23 happened at SGR Section 5, near Duka Moja area between Suswa and Enkare.

The accident, said to have involved six vehicles, including a Prado, a bus, a shuttle, two trailers and a motorcycle.

According to The Standard, the horrific accident in the same area happened a few minutes apart. Police noted that one trailer lost control and hit several vehicles.

Two minutes later, another speeding trailer hit another car, killing two people instantly.

Narok East police commander, Samson Rukunga, confirmed the accidents, saying they involved six vehicles and a boda boda with two passengers.

“The first accident occurred after a trailer from Narok had a flat tire and lost control, hitting a small car, an Ena Coach bus and a Narok Line three, which were coming from the other side of the road,” said Rukunga.

The three people who were in three they died on the spot.

He said shortly after, the second trailer that was coming from the Narok side arrived at the scene at high speed and collided head-on with the Prado that was traveling in the other direction.

Two people in the Prado died on the spot, and the third died in hospital.

“The second trailer also hit the motorcycle and killed the two passengers who were riding the motorcycle on the spot,” added Rukunga.

The People Daily newspaper reported the list of dangerous places for road accidents as identified by the Ministry of Interior.

Motorists are urged to be careful, obey traffic laws, and be alert on the road in light of the increased traffic this holiday season.

In the coastal area, the dangerous areas are; Maji Chumvi, Airport, Malindi in Jiwe Tanga, Ndii area, Kwale Matuga Junction Road, Mazeras Miritini Road Section, Maungu-Tsavo East Gate Road Section, Tsavo-Maungu-Voi Road Section, Part of Kilifi-Vipingo Road, Kibarani-Changamwe Makande, Maunga area, and Navy Junction (Mtongwe Junction) Lunga Lunga/Likoni Road.

In the Eastern region, the areas are Nkubu-Embu Road Section, Konza Junction to Salama Road Section, Mtito to Tsavo River Stretch, Emali Simba Market to Kibwezi, Nanyuki to Isiolo Junction in Subuiga, Mombasa/Nairobi in Chumvi area, Machakos-Wamuyu Road Section in Kithangathini, Salama-Sultan Hamud Road Section, Mlolongo-Small-World Cup and the junction to Namanga in Mawe River bridge.

In the Central region, the dangerous areas are Kiambu-Muthaiga Road, Nyeri-Nyahururu Road, Limuru-Uplands Section, Kiganjo-Narumor Road, Kibirigwi-Sagana Section, Kiriaini-Murang'a Road Section, Makongeni ( in the Road Thika-Garissa), Thika Blue Post-Sagana Bridge Road 8, and Section of Embu Junction Road.
