United States – A 32-year-old man of Kenyan origin, Nobert Matara, has been arrested in the United States in connection with the death of a woman whose remains were discovered in her car.
According to information from the Aberdeen Police Department, on Saturday, December 21, 2024, officers were called by the New Castle County Police Department in Delaware to assist in the search for a person reported missing and a male suspect linked to a murder incident.
Matara's car was found in Aberdeen, Maryland, where he was found near the area during the search.
“Officers responded to a call in the 1100 block of S. Philadelphia Blvd and located a homicide suspect. Subsequent investigation led to the discovery of human remains in the vehicle. The suspect was later arrested,” a police statement said.
How did Tracy Nyariki go missing?
The woman found dead was identified as 31-year-old Tracy Nyariki, a resident of Newark, Delaware, who was reported missing from Bear, New Castle County.
His employer alerted the police after he failed to show up for work for several days.
After a search of his home at the Village of Kent Apartments in Bear, police discovered several suspicious circumstances that raised fears about Nyariki's safety.
“After further investigation, we discovered disturbing details that suggested a possible serious threat to his life,” the police said.
Matara was identified as the “prime suspect” in Nyariki's disappearance.
The suspect is currently in jail in Maryland awaiting extradition to Delaware on charges of first-degree murder and may face additional charges “as evidence continues to be gathered in the ongoing investigation.”
However, the relationship between Matara and Nyariki is not clear, although it is believed that the two knew each other.

Neighbors who gave information about the incident reported that Angela Moraa's body had started to decompose while Vincent Nyambunde's body was still fresh.
A local elder, Yuvinalis Oyagi, expressed his sadness about the incident and urged the locals who are going through challenges to seek help.
