Nairobi—Senator Gloria Orwoba has strongly condemned a recent article in a local newspaper, calling it misleading gossip.
Through a statement he shared on Facebook, Orwoba criticized the post for invading his privacy and spreading propaganda.
He wanted the newspaper to remove the article and apologize for the allegations made by The Nairobian.
Orwoba noted that being a woman politician means facing all forms of injustice for most of her political life.
“Courageously, I have confronted powerful men at all levels of society, warning them of their actions and inactions that perpetuate and perpetuate a negative, hostile system,” he wrote.
The senator expressed his regrets about the invasion of private areas of women and children who cannot defend themselves in the public square.

In particular, he asked for respect for the former President of Ghana, John Kufuor, whose name was mentioned in the report.
“An honorable African leader like Hon. John Kufuor should be given his right to answer,” he said, urging the media to adhere to ethical standards.
Orwoba, known for his outspoken advocacy on gender issues, criticized the article for perpetuating harmful stereotypes against women in leadership.
He added that such articles weaken women in politics and promote a culture of evading punishment where baseless allegations are taken as facts.
Orwoba concluded his statement by asking The Nairobian to remove the article and issue a public apology for the allegations.
So far, the publication has not responded to his remarks.
